For Undergraduate Students
- For UP Transferees
- Courses taken in another UP unit or program may be credited provided the content of these courses is equivalent to that of courses required for the UPOU program.
- Courses for which transfer of credit is being sought should have been taken within five years from the time of application for crediting.
- Courses to be credited should not exceed 50% of the total number of units required for the UPOU program.
- For Non-UP Transferees
- Courses taken in another university may be credited provided the content of these courses is equivalent to that of courses required for the UPOU program.
- Courses for which transfer of credit is being sought should have been taken within five years from the time of application for crediting.
- Courses to be credited should not exceed 50% of the total number of units required for the UPOU program.
- The student must take and pass a validation examination for every course for which transfer of credit is being sought. A validation examination can be taken only once. Validation exams will be scheduled as follows:
- (a) before the first semester for first semester courses; and
(b) before the second semester for all other courses.
For Graduate Students (Diploma/Master’s/PhD)
- For UP Transferees
- A maximum of 9 units earned in another UP unit or program may be eligible for transfer of credits.
- The final grades earned for these units must be no lower than 2.0.
- The courses for which transfer credit is sought must have been taken within the last five years from the time of application; otherwise, the student must take and pass validation exams.
- For Non-UP Transferees
- A maximum of 9 units earned in another school, college or university may be eligible for transfer of credits.
- The final grades earned for these units must be no lower than 2.0.
- The courses for which transfer of credits is sought must have been taken within the last five years from the time of application.
- A student must take a validation exam for every course for which he/she is requesting transfer of credits.
- A validation exam for a course can be taken only once. The student must pass the validation exam for the course to be credited. A validation exam must be taken before or within the semester of admission.
- A formal application for transfer of credits must be submitted before the first semester of admission.
